In 1983, Car Doc SA Auto Repair Shop opened its doors under the administration of Konrad Starke Valverde in San José, Costa Rica. Konrad Starke, a founding partner, graduated from the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey, Mexico in 1982. Upon graduation, Konrad received a diploma awarded to "The Best Students of Mexico" delivered by former President Lopez Portillo and the Committee of the Instituto Tecnologico de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey. One year later his brother Einar graduated from the same institution and became his first partner.
